Support Worker (Casual – Field Based)

📍 Locations: City to Southeast & Western Melbourne
💰 Pay: A$35.00 – A$39.00 per hour

About the Role

We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Support Workers to join our team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care to our participants across Melbourne.

This role involves supporting people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and identities — including male and female participants and members of the LGBTQ+ community — with dignity, respect, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Provide respectful personal care, including showering, toileting, and hygiene support

Assist participants with community access and recreational activities

Support mobility through safe manual handling and the use of equipment (e.g., hoists, wheelchairs)

Assist with transportation and encourage social engagement

Perform light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning

Uphold privacy, dignity, and inclusion for all participants

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in disability or community support (professional or lived experience considered)

Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and complex behaviors

Proficiency in hoist use, PEG feeding, and epilepsy management

Flexible availability and willingness to work field-based shifts as required

Current Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle

COVID-19 vaccination (as per current health requirements)

Essential Criteria

Strong understanding of the disability and community services sector

Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and empowerment

NDIS Worker Screening Check and legal right to work in Australia

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compassionate, inclusive approach to supporting people with disabilities and diverse identities

Required Certifications

Working With Children Check

National Police Clearance

Driver Licence
