Location: Glenroy, Victoria
Shift Type: Community Access and Assistance with Self Care
Shift Timing: 9 AM to 7 PM (10 hours/day)
Days: 5–7 days per week
Support Type: Complex mental health support, daily living activities and community access assistance.
About the role:
We are currently looking for reliable and dedicated Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis to support a female participant in Glenroy VIC. Participant is currently residing in own residence.
Essential Criteria:
Mental Health Experience
Demonstrated extensive experience working with participants who have severe and complex mental health needs.
Proven ability to support individuals experiencing severe suicidal ideation, depression, and intellectual disabilities.
Behaviour Support
Skilled in managing behaviours of concern (non-violent) including negative slurs, intrusive thoughts, and auditory hallucinations.
Capable of applying de-escalation and trauma-informed support approaches consistently
Fitness & Community Engagement
Willingness and ability to assist with fitness and exercise programs as part of daily community access and wellbeing activities.
Availability & Reliability
Must be available for up to 10 hours per day, across 5–7 days per week
Reliable attendance and strong commitment to continuity of care.
Cultural & Personal Compatibility
Must be LGBTQ+ friendly
Mandatory requirements:
Minimum 2+ years Mental health experience is a must.
Diploma/Certificate IV/ Certificate III in Mental Health, Community Services, or Disability Support.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) or ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
Positive Behaviour Support training
Victorian Driver’s License with comprehensive insurance
NDIS Worker Screening Check
First Aid Certificate and CPR
Valid Victorian Working with Children Check
Manual handling certificate
Medication administration certificate
