About the Role
The role of the Senior Booking & Events Officer is to deliver efficient end-to-end venue booking management, applying specialised event and venue expertise to drive increased utilisation across key venues in the Peninsula Venue Management portfolio. The portfolio includes but not limited to; halls, theatres, meeting room & multipurpose spaces. This role suits an experienced, adaptable events professional who values collaboration and takes pride in creating seamless processes behind the scenes.
Reporting to the Team Leader Peninsula Venue Management the core responsibilities include:
- Manage daily bookings and event administration of Council’s bookable facilities including application assessment, event guidance, booking compliance, debt management and reporting in accordance with relevant Council regulations, policies and guidelines.
- Ensure bookings and event information within the booking system is accurate, up to date, accessible, and auditable (internally and externally) to help gain efficiencies and increase accessibility.
- Facilitate relationships, partnerships, and engagement across Council and the community that support increased utilisation within Council owned and operated facilities in accordance with relevant policies and priorities.
- Promote and assist in the continuous improvement of policies, processes, procedures, systems, standards and guidelines to support innovative, efficient and effective venue utilisation and booking management within Council.
About You
- Degree or diploma in event management and/or lesser formal qualifications with experience in the booking management, activation and administration of multi-use facilities.
- High level of customer service skills including proficiency in communicating and gaining cooperation from all internal and external clients.
- Ability to build strong and productive relationships both within the organisation as well as with external agencies and the community.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate highly developed administrative, organisational and time management skills.
