What you'll be doing
As the MND Counsellor, you will provide specialised psychosocial support to individuals living with Motor Neurone Disease, their carers, and families. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care and contribute to service development.
Deliver client-centred counselling to support emotional wellbeing and life transitions
Conduct psychosocial assessments and collaborate in integrated care planning
Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development
Contribute to departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
Provide culturally sensitive support and education to staff and students

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Selection Criteria:
Bachelor of Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Demonstrated clinical experience in working with MND, or other neurodegenerative/ terminal illnesses.
Demonstrated understanding of issues associated with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse client group.
Demonstrated experience working with adjustment, grief and loss and/or bereavement.
Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of quality assurance and / or clinical practice improvement activities.
Current Drivers licence valid within NSW and ability to travel as required across the local health district.
