About the role
We are currently seeking a School Canteen Manager to be part of our client's esteemed private girl’s school located in Hobart, TAS. Special stand down arrangements apply to school-based employees. We would try to offer you alternative work during school holidays. However, if this is not practicable or unavailable, you would have to take paid or unpaid leave.
Shift Schedule
Monday to Friday 07.00am - 03.00pm or as required for functions.
*The successful applicant must have a current Working with vulnerable people or be willing to apply for it. *
Skills and experience
3+ years' experience in a similar role
Reliable and punctual
Collaboration and teamwork
Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
Patience and respect towards school children, staff and stakeholders
Must have reliable transport.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and assemble meals based on individual lunch orders, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
Oversee the daily operations of the canteen, including meal planning, inventory management, and ensuring timely service.
Lead and manage the canteen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Computer Literate and good written communication skills.
Ensure all food preparation and service areas comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Organize and prepare the canteen for special events and functions, including setting up equipment and clearing down after the event.
Ordering and adhering to and completing quality assurance documents
Perform basic cooking tasks to prepare a variety of food and beverages, ensuring quality and taste standards are met.
