About Us
We are a specialist medical practice providing compassionate and professional gynaecological care. We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our friendly administrative team. This position is pivotal in supporting our Gynaecologist, Dr Sumi Saha, and ensuring the smooth, efficient, and caring delivery of services to our patients.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will provide exceptional service with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail. The role involves administrative and reception duties, patient coordination, and medical record management using Gentu practice software.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients and manage the check-in process.
Assist patients with forms and ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
Handle incoming calls and respond to enquiries professionally.
Schedule consultations, manage referrals, and liaise with insurers.
Prepare and process invoices, Medicare claims, and payments.
Maintain specialist correspondence and practice records.
Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with medico-legal standards.
Manage office and medical supplies, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment.
Skills & Experience
To be successful, you will have:
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Administrator in a GP or Specialist clinic.
Strong knowledge of Medicare billing and item numbers.
Familiarity with medical terminology and health sector workflows.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisation, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, and confidence in using new software.
A current National Police Check.
Flexibility to cover staff absences or adjusted hours when required.
Hours of Work
32โ40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
Standard hours: 8:45 am โ 5:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
No weekend or public holiday work.
Flexibility and occasional additional hours may be required to support the team.

Attractive hourly rate ($32โ$36/hour + Super) depending on experience.

A performance review will occur after 3 months of employment, and annually thereafter.
