Lead Strategic Excellence in Health - Join MNCLHD as Director, Office of the Chief Executive
Are you a visionary leader ready to shape the future of public health? MNCLHD is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Office of the Chief Executive to provide high-level leadership, coordination, and support of the Chief Executive, driving alignment, governance, and strategic delivery across the District. Based in Port Macquarie, enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the mid north coast while establishing your career in Health.

About the Role
As a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, you will:

Oversee major events, VIP visits, and special projects that enhance the District's reputation and impact

  • Lead executive, governance, and corporate support functions
  • Provide strategic and political advice on complex, high-profile matters
  • Coordinate strategic planning, communications, and performance reporting
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with Ministers, Ministry Officials, Aboriginal leaders, unions, and community representatives

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications and extensive senior executive experience
  • Proven leadership in politically sensitive environments
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally safe practices
  • Current Driver's License and willingness to travel

Please outline your experience in cultivating effective partnerships, navigating complex or challenging relationships, and balancing pace, strategic alignment, and tangible results.

Question 2
Describe a time when you successfully led a major cross-organisational initiative or high-impact project under pressure. How did you manage competing priorities, apply analytical and strategic thinking (such as scenario planning), and maintain influence and composure with senior stakeholders?

Question 3
As Director, you will operate within a complex system requiring sound judgement, discretion, and a deep understanding of organisational governance. Please describe your leadership approach in navigating ambiguity, enabling high performance, and ensuring alignment between strategic intent and operational delivery.

Remuneration

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

About Mid North Coast Local Health District

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area in the south to Coffs Harbour Local Government Area in the north.

MNCLHD is a non commercial government funded health organisation that provides quality health care at public hospitals in Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie and Wauchope.

There are 10 Community Health Centres in the District which are located at Bellingen, Camden Haven, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie, South West Rocks, Wauchope and Woolgoolga.

The Mid North Coast has one of the fastest growing and ageing populations in NSW, with MNCLHD providing a diverse range of services to a population of about 215,000 people.
