About the role
As the Manager – Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) Trial Project, you'll coordinate and oversee a multi-phase research project evaluating a culturally responsive model of care for women with GDM. Working collaboratively with health professionals, researchers, and First Nations partners, you'll guide the project from design and ethics approval through to implementation and knowledge translation. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate all aspects of the GDM trial setup, including governance, ethics, data management, and grant preparation.
- Collaborate with First Nations stakeholders to ensure culturally grounded research design and delivery.
- Support the preparation of competitive grant submissions (e.g. MRFF, NHMRC).
- Oversee project documentation, timelines, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
- Contribute to developing research capacity within First Nations health organisations.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legislative, and Good Clinical Practice standards
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to research that directly impacts maternal health outcomes and builds capacity within rural and First Nations health services.
Requirements
- Possession of relevant post graduate experience and/ or qualifications relevant to the responsibilities of the position is highly desirable.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hep B/A and Tuberculosis.
