About the role
The Manager – GDM Trial Project is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a multi-phase research project that evaluates a culturally responsive model of care for women with GDM. The role provides leadership in research governance, clinical oversight, and partnership development to support culturally appropriate, evidence-based practice across North West Hospital and Health Service. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design, coordination, and implementation of the GDM trial, including research governance, ethics applications, and data management.
- Prepare and manage competitive grant submissions and associated project documentation.
- Collaborate with First Nations health organisations and cultural advisors to ensure culturally responsive and co-designed research practices.
- Support the training, supervision, and coordination of research staff across multiple rural sites.
- Maintain compliance with ethical, clinical, and legislative requirements in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Contribute to developing research capability and advancing clinical governance within the Nursing and Midwifery Professional Practice Unit.
This position offers an opportunity to apply advanced clinical and research leadership to enhance service delivery and strengthen culturally responsive models of care within North West Queensland. .
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
