About the position:

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Financial Accountant located in Melbourne, VIC, with some work-from-home flexibility. The position reports into an experienced CFO and offers immense development and coaching opportunities.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, utilizing accounting software, and generating financial reports. This role requires a keen focus on compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting to support the company's financial health and decision-making processes.

On a regular basis you will be responsible for:

Overseeing daily finance operations across multiple entities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.

Handling intercompany transactions, eliminations, and multi-currency consolidations.

Providing actionable insights into key performance drivers — revenue, margins, operating costs, and cash flow.

Developing reporting dashboards and metrics for executive and board use.

Partnering with business unit leaders to translate financial data into commercial decisions.

Managing the annual external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors.

Coordinating with external advisors on income tax, transfer pricing, GST/VAT, and other regulatory requirements.

Overseeing payroll compliance and local statutory reporting while ensuring compliance with all statutory, taxation, and corporate obligations in Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

Managing cash flow forecasting and working capital to ensure liquidity and funding efficiency.

Monitoring group banking, multi-currency transactions, and intercompany settlements.

Providing recommendations to the CFO on cash management, capital allocation, and FX risk.

Driving improvements in financial systems and processes to support automation, scalability, and data accuracy.

Leading, coaching, and developing a distributed finance team (including offshore resources).

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years experience in financial management, controllership, or senior accounting roles.

Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity consolidations across international jurisdictions.

Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and IFRS.
