Senior Payroll Officer

• Location: Perth CBD (100% Office Based)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
• Contract until end of January (potential for extension)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to join our Perth Head Office. This role is responsible for overseeing two payrolls (fortnightly and monthly) covering approximately 800 employees per pay run. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of payroll legislation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work confidently with modern payroll systems.

You will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, with a focus on analysing pay outcomes rather than data entry.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage fortnightly and monthly payrolls for approximately 800 employees each.
  
  
• Review and analyse payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with legislative requirements.
  
  
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring all employees are paid correctly.
  
  
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
  
  
• Maintain knowledge of relevant awards, legislation, and compliance standards.
  
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll and HR processes.
  
  
• Provide assistance during key pay periods, including being available 22nd, 23rd, and potentially 24th December to ensure payroll continuity over the Christmas period.
  
  

Skills and Experience

• Experience with Workday Payroll is highly regarded.
  
  
• Workday HR experience will be beneficial and easily transferable to the payroll system.
  
  
• Strong proficiency in modern payroll systems is essential.
  
  
• Experience with Pronto and/or SAP will be advantageous.
  
  
• In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  
  
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
  
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
