The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for a Senior Cyber Risk Analyst and Insights to join our growing team!

About you
You are a motivated cyber risk professional with a passion for improving cyber resilience in complex organisations. You enjoy analysing data, identifying trends and distilling insights that support informed decision making. You're confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and can translate risk and technical information into clear, business focused language.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Significant experience in cyber risk management, ideally in a large and complex organisation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk registers, control assessments, and incident/vulnerability data.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence, negotiate and build strong relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Proven ability to interpret data-driven insights that help assess cybersecurity risks, support proactive decision-making and inform ongoing security initiatives.
  • Experience with security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS18, Essential 8 etc)
  • Relevant certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP or equivalent are highly regarded
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools or automation in risk analysis and reporting is advantageous

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading and coordinating cyber risk assessments across ICT systems, and agencies to identify key risks and inform treatment strategies.
  • Overseeing the analysis of risk registers, vulnerability data, incident trends and control assessments to identify emerging themes and support decision making
  • Coordinating follow up on risk treatments and milestones, ensuring actions are tracked, validated and reported.
  • Supporting the development and embedding of the Department's cyber risk management framework, ensuring risks are consistently identified, assessed and managed across agencies.
  • Driving innovation in risk reporting and assurance processes.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to support audits, compliance reviews and strategic risk discussions
  • Partnering with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in risk governance, aligning with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS18 and Essential 8.
