Clerk Grade 11/12 with a salary range of $149,739 - $173,174 per annum plus superannuation
Temporary, Full-time role until 30 June 2026, based in Sydney, NSW
Possibility of extension or becoming permanent for the right candidate.
About the role
The Cyber and Information Security team within DCITHS have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Director Cyber Security Governance and Awareness to join the team.
In this role, we are looking for a Cyber Security governance and compliance leader to promote a wide range of security operations activities, including (but not limited to) supporting the development and delivery of key initiatives that are required to manage cyber risk, align to policies, regulatory and legal obligations, and create management strategies to ensure best practice across the portfolio.
The role will play a big part in managing the department’s cyber governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and cyber awareness activities. This also includes leadership and advisory on cyber arrangements for the portfolio agencies.

About You
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
Developing and maintaining comprehensive Cyber Security strategies and policies.
Work and engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment of Cyber security strategies with overall business objectives
Lead the implementation of a comprehensive program of security controls, including (but not limited to) managed detection and response, email security gateway, public key infrastructure, zero-trust architecture, vulnerability management, penetration testing etc. to identify and assess threats, weaknesses, and non-conformance, contributing to effective risk mitigation.
Develop and monitor performance metrics to assess Cyber Security programs and their outcomes.
Managing and delivering multiple tasks, activities, projects and deadlines, often in partnership with other state and commonwealth agencies, while resolving program issues in a complex and sensitive stakeholder environment
Our ideal candidate will have:
Understanding of contemporary cyber security frameworks such as ISO27001 and the NSW Cyber Security Policy and understanding how to apply them in a government environment.
Experience facilitating and delivering Cyber based training programs to a executive and non-executive staff
Ability to effectively develop strong strategic working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
Experience in developing performance reporting, metrics and implementation of audit recommendations and training campaigns.
Tertiary qualifications in cyber security, cyber governance, or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong interpersonal skills.
