National Disability and Aged Care Service (NDACS) is a registered NDIS provider supporting people with disability across homes, communities, and supported accommodation. We’ve proudly served the local area since 2010 and are known for our hands-on, person-centred approach.
We are currently seeking reliable, experienced Disability Support Workers to support a male client living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in a group home setting in Peakhurst.

This role involves supporting a male participant with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) who displays frequent and significant behaviours of concern. These include:
Verbal abuse and offensive language, including racist slurs
Inappropriate sexualised behaviours (e.g. masturbating in presence of staff, attempts to touch staff)
Impulsivity and unsafe mobility attempts, which may pose safety risks
These behaviours are the result of his ABI and are supported through a structured Behaviour Support Plan in collaboration with allied health professionals.
This position is only suitable for support workers who are:
Confident and calm under pressure
Experienced in managing behaviours of concern
Able to maintain strong professional boundaries
Comfortable following clear safety and behavioural protocols
About the Role
Location: Peakhurst
Employment Type: Casual (with consistent full-time hours available)
Shifts:
Morning: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Afternoon: 3:00pm – 10:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Assist with personal care (showering, toileting, dressing, grooming)
Support safe mobility, including use of a hoist and transfer techniques
Monitor behaviour and respond according to the Behaviour Support Plan
Prepare meals, assist with medication, and document incidents accurately
Provide companionship and maintain dignity and respect at all times
Essential Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check
National Police Check (within 3 years)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Manual Handling training or experience
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
Willingness to complete required NDIS training modules
Ability to provide 100 points of ID
Preferred Experience
Prior experience supporting someone with an Acquired Brain Injury
Familiarity with implementing Behaviour Support Plans
De-escalation and professional boundary-setting skills
Strong communication and note-taking abilities
Emotional resilience and self-awareness
