About the Role

We’re looking for a Finance & Reporting Accountant to join a fast-growing insurtech underwriting agency that’s leveraging technology and data to deliver a smarter way to better cover.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our finance activities run smoothly and accurately across underwriting, claims, and broader company operations - taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities, month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Working closely with the Head of Finance and teams across the business, you’ll help strengthen controls and drive automation, so routine work runs seamlessly, allowing finance to focus on insights & innovation.

This is a hands-on role that will evolve as the business grows, offering broad experience across the finance function and insurance, along with the opportunity to take on more responsibility and shape how finance supports the wider organisation.

The ideal candidate combines solid finance and analytical capability with strong Excel proficiency, insurance experience, and a passion for improving and automating finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee premium accounting, including recognition, allocation, and settlement of premiums with capacity providers

• Manage daily finance activities including payables, receivables, treasury etc.

• Prepare premium and claims bordereaux, resolving queries with underwriters.

• Reconcile underwriting and claims data across systems ensuring accuracy and consistency

• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support management reporting

• Test and integrate new products into finance and reporting systems.

• Support audit, tax, and broader finance projects as the business grows.

• Maintain clear process documentation and strengthen controls

• Drive improvements in automation, and efficiency to help finance operate smarter.

Requirements

• Qualified or Part-qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)

• 3–5 years’ experience in financial services, preferably within insurance

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups etc

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance teams.

• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
