Australian Ocean Biotechnology has been in the Aquaculture Industry since 1999, we are now seeking Research and Compliance Officer, to help our Facility increase Abalone productivity and diversification into new species!
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Farm Manager and reporting to Company Management, you will be be responsible Lodging simple and to the point commercial and research compliance paper work to the various Government departments as well as keeping all Research and compliance up to date, writing of relevant reports --
1)Fisheries Tasmania Compliance
2)Marine Farming Tasmania Compliance
3)Biosecurity Tasmania Compliance
4)Animal Ethics Research Permits for Multiple Species
5)EPA Environmental Protection Authority Applications and Compliance
6)Compliance of our Approve Export Facility up to date
7)Keeping accurate and professional research project data up to date and in order with professional research standards, ready for R&D tax grant submission.
8) Writing research reports for R&D tax grant submission and making sure all data is presented in a correct and professional manner
7)Help withe general husbandry and operations when needed.
There will also be other Adhoc work to help with general operations.

Experience in Aquaculture or Farming would be ideal, but not mandatory
Continuous Improvement mindset and previous training highly beneficial
The position is partly hands on, partly in office.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Qualifications in Aquaculture, Marine Science or related discipline highly favourable but not essential.

Essential Skill of Candidate: As you will be dealing with Government Departments in Tasmania you will need to be a very proactive person, capable driving or pushing our Companies objectives through the Government system, that at times isnt set up in a way to support Business Development.
