Drive workplace health and safety standards are across a complex and multi site operation, Australia-wide. You'll lead initiatives to create a safe and compliant environment and work closely with site managers and business leaders.

Client Details

30 years in operation, this business operates in express delivery, freight forwarding and logistics. They are experience double digit YoY growth and looking to invest in the right safety leadership to support that growth.

Description

Reporting the the WHS Lead, Oceania, this role involves:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies and procedures in line with regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance across all operations.
  • Lead safety training programs and workshops for staff and management.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering & Manufacturing department to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Prepare and present detailed WHS reports to senior management.
  • Oversee emergency response plans and ensure readiness for any incidents.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Travelling to sites as required

Profile

A successful WHS Manager should have:

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in WHS (minimum)
  • 5 years' experience in WHS Manager role (ideally 7-10) within a complex multi-site environment
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Driver's licence
  • Ability to work at pace and adapt
  • Member of AIHS or similar

Desirable (but not essential) would be:

  • Experience working in logistics or transport environment
  • Exposure to sustainability practices
  • Formal auditing qualifications
  • Knowledge of Iso45001
  • Knowledge of works compensation
