Renewable Energy - Solar & Battery
Office: Mascot + Site Visits
About the Role
Clean Power Australia is a leading solar and battery installation business, operating at scale across NSW. With strong growth and an emerging recurring revenue stream through Virtual Power Plant (VPP) participation, we are committed to raising the standard of safety and compliance across our operations.
We are seeking a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to design, implement and lead a fit-for-purpose safety management framework. This is a hands-on role, ideally suited to someone who thrives in both the office and on-site environments, and who can systemise compliance while building a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain a WHS Management System that meets SafeWork NSW and industry standards.
Develop clear policies, procedures, and safe work method statements (SWMS) tailored to solar/battery installations.
Use Monday.com (and other tools) to track WHS tasks, incidents, and compliance calendars.
Work closely with Peninsula (external compliance partner) to ensure all WHS documentation and processes meet Australian workplace health and safety laws.
Maintain and update the risk register; log and track all incidents and near misses.
Ensure contractor and subcontractor WHS obligations are clearly managed and documented.
Conduct site visits and spot checks to ensure adherence to WHS standards.
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and face-to-face safety workshops for installers, operations staff, and contractors.
Drive a proactive safety culture across the business.
Ensure WHS training completion is tracked and reported.
Prepare monthly WHS reports for senior leadership, covering incidents, corrective actions, and training compliance.
Provide evidence of safety performance for investors and external auditors during due diligence.
Key Skills & Experience
3+ years in a WHS role (preferably in construction, electrical, renewables, or utilities)
Strong knowledge of SafeWork NSW regulations.
Confident at creating and managing WHS systems from the ground up.
Excellent communicator: able to run workshops and document policies in clear, professional language.
Proficient in using cloud-based tools (e.g. Monday.com, Microsoft Office).
Hands-on approach, willing to attend sites, yards, and installations to enforce standards.
Ability to balance practical, operational realities with regulatory compliance.
What We Offer
Salary package of $85,000 – $100,000 + super (dependent on experience).
Full-time permanent role, based at Mascot with site travel.
Opportunity to build the WHS function from the ground up, leaving a lasting impact.
A leadership team committed to serious investment in safety and compliance.
Role is directly tied to positioning the business for major growth and private equity investment — giving the right candidate visibility at the highest level.
The recruitment process will be a phone interview followed by a face to face in our office based in Mascot.
If you are interested, please attach your CV and we will give you a call.
