About the role
The City of Greater Dandenong is undertaking a major transformation of its Digital Technology Department and are excited to offer a newly created role that will shape the future direction of information technology.
We are a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to enhancing our digital presence and operational efficiency. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business & Information Systems Analyst to join our Digital Technology Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and support some of Council's core Information Systems, including upgrade in accordance with agreed change management procedures.
- Promote the productive use of Information Systems throughout Council, providing technical support for other Council Information Systems.
- Review business unit processes across Council to advise on new or enhanced solutions to meet users' requirements.
- Assist in the investigation, specification, and implementation of new initiatives, including module enhancements and creation and integration of Information Systems
About you
To be successful in this role, your primary responsibilities:
- Degree or Diploma qualifications in Information Technology and/or Industry recognised qualification/s, e.g., MCSE, MCTS, ITIL, etc. with little or no relevant work experience or alternatively:
- through lesser formal qualifications with demonstrated knowledge of computing in a business/corporate network environment, preferably including demonstrated:
-- experience in working in a best practice environment e.g., ITIL, ISO20000, etc, including effective planning, time, and project management skills; and
-- experience in supporting web-based systems, Corporate Systems, or similar local government software
- Relevant skills, knowledge and experience for any applicant should include demonstrated:
- business intelligence and report writing using e.g., Crystal Reports or SQL Reporting Services, preferably with knowledge of SQL server functions
- analytical, problem solving, organisational and time management skills, to prioritise responsibilities within resources available and set timelines to achieve the specific departmental objectives.
- ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a cohesive and efficient team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
- satisfactory (and ongoing) Police Check
- current valid (and ongoing) Victorian Driver's Licence
