About the role

We require a full-time carpenter to join our team. You will work remotely at sites in the different parts of NSW and ACT to execute the projects of JD Reinforcement.

Key responsibilities

Have a background in carpentry.

Ability to study blueprints, drawings, specifications to determine materials required and dimensions of structures or fixes.

Knowledge to operate woodworking machine to cut, shape and fit timber parts to form structures and fixtures using hand and power tools.

Experience in general carpentry works such as constructing, erecting, installing, renovating and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials.

Cutting, shaping and fitting timber parts to form structures and fittings.

Laying out floorings, roofing or drywalls to ensure they are levelled and compatible.

Building window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.

Building scaffolding and other construction structures.

Liaising with internal office staff, project managers & external clients.

Adhering to legislative and regulatory requirements such as OHS legislation and risk management, assessing hazardous components of each project as required.

About you

Completion of Certificate III in Carpentry;

At least 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry;

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to a high standard of finish

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively with the broader project team

Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities on site

A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transportation

Must have a Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Ability to read technical documents and drawings
