Join a leading public sector organisation delivering essential engineering services across a healthcare facility in Melbourne's western suburbs. This team plays a critical role in maintaining safe, efficient, and patient-friendly environments across the hospital.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be part of a dynamic Facilities Management team responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, mechanical plant, and select medical equipment. Your day-to-day will include:
- Reactive and preventative maintenance of hospital equipment, plant equipment, pumps, motors, bearing replacements
- Repairs of hospital theatre & ward equipment
- Fault diagnosis and minor repairs of trolleys, wheelchairs, patient appliances
- HVAC filter replacements
- TIG welding stainless steel
- Supporting the facilities team with building and infrastructure upkeep
- Building maintenance
- No two days will be the same!
What you'll need to succeed
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (highly desirable)
- Current police check
- Triple COVID vaccination
- Well presented & good communciaiton skills
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
