Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing
Location: Dandenong
Salary: $50-$65 an hour on permanenet + Super + Overtime

A leading food manufacturing company in Dandenong is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a full-time, stable role with day, afternoon, or night shifts available.

Offering $50 – $65 per hour, this position can start as temp-to-perm or potentially permanent for the right candidate.

The Role This hands-on position involves preventative and reactive (breakdown) maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement across a range of production and packaging equipment. You’ll play a key role in keeping the plant running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on production equipment
  
  
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults
  
  
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyors, pumps, and valves
  
  
• Support process improvement and equipment reliability projects
  
  
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and OHS standards
  
  
• Provide technical support to production teams to minimise downtime
  
  
• Accurately record maintenance work – MEX CMMS experience highly regarded
  
  

About You

• Trade qualified Maintenance Fitter (Cert III Mechanical or equivalent)
  
  
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment
  
  
• Strong experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, breakdowns, and preventative maintenance
  
  
• Familiarity with MEX or similar CMMS systems (advantageous)
  
  
• Hands-on, reliable, and proactive with a strong safety mindset
  
  
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  
  
• Welding or fabrication experience a plus
  
  
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential
