About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to drive asset performance, availability, and improvement across facilities infrastructure. This role applies reliability engineering principles to support maintenance teams and enhance asset lifecycle planning. You'll lead root cause analysis, FMECA, and asset data modelling to optimise maintenance strategies and contribute to the development of asset management plans and technical frameworks that ensure safe, reliable rail operations.
In this multifaceted role, you'll oversee quality control, safety compliance, and governance, ensuring engineering standards align with PTA requirements. You'll manage contract development, tender evaluations, and stakeholder engagement, while providing expert technical advice across the Branch. From drafting maintenance documentation to supporting testing and commissioning, your work will shape the future of infrastructure reliability. Flexibility for on-call duties and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential in this high-impact position.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Holds an engineering degree eligible for Engineers Australia membership or has significant experience in infrastructure reliability.
Proven experience in asset renewals, planning, design, and commissioning, with deep knowledge of building services systems and lifecycle reliability.
Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and proven leadership experience in managing critical assets and complex environments.
Excels in managing multiple stakeholders, delivering clear technical reports, and facilitating effective collaboration across diverse teams.
Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex information and meet deadlines through coordinated teamwork.

There is one permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start.
This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
