As a Project Manager – Finance Back to Basics program, you will lead with an Agile methodology approach to focus on delivering incremental benefits rapidly across our Finance function and ensure that end to end processes are considered and improved.
In this role you will lead a team that address key pain points right across the finance function by identifying and addressing root cause. This would include analysing process and data flow for our different Finance streams to identify opportunities to streamline processes and address root cause issues that cause extra work. You will both identify and resolve issues (where practical) and will work with the Finance data analytics team to develop BI dashboards for the Finance team.
Please note, this is a maximum term contract until 30 June 2027, with the potential for extension. Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you, too - this role supports hybrid working by agreement.
Your part in our UnitingCare team:
Lead team using agile methodology to deliver rapid and sustainable improvements to the Finance function in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop solid stakeholder relationships with Finance teams to better understand their challenges and how the work of Finance Back to Basics is best positioned to drive sustainable work practice improvement in (simpler, documented, addresses root cause / takes less time)
Run effective daily stand-up meetings to provide clarity of team and individual focus as well as a forum to celebrate success, raise issues and need for problem solving as well as escalations.
Prepare Finance teams in collaboration with Finance Leadership to be ready to commence and prioritise end to end improvement using an agile methodology
Support the facilitation of workshops, including value stream mapping, opportunities and planning workshops and co-design with stakeholders how key information will be retained e.g. through central process mapping tools, work instruction, role design, business logic, BI reporting etc.
Test and ensure information being generated is “fit-for-purpose” and will enable a sustainable, embedded outcome within the Finance function.
Regular communication with the Finance Senior Leadership (including CFO) to discuss progress plans and ensure understanding of the nature of issues being resolved.
What makes a difference for us?
Tertiary qualifications in Business or a related field, with demonstrated experience in leading a similar program driving a Finance or Corporate transformation through data driven process improvement.
Proven success working in a fast-paced outcomes focused delivery environment with a demonstrated ability to lead an agile delivery method.
Familiarity with Process Mapping Tools, BI reporting and a greenbelt in Lean Six Sigma will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and develop positive and effective working relationships
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to successfully influence and negotiate with key stakeholders to deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
Strong customer-focused attitude, commitment to actively display organisational values, and contribute to team goals.
