The Project Support Officer is based in our Milton office.
About the role
Lung Foundation Australia is seeking a Project Support Officer to support the effective delivery of a national, strategic health initiative – the Lung Cancer Screening Program – with a strong focus on inclusion, equity and consumer engagement.
This role sits within our Policy, Advocacy and Prevention department and will support as part of a small, dedicated team working to increase participation in lung cancer screening among five priority population groups, including people living in rural and remote areas, people living with disabilities, people living with mental illness, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people in the LGBTIQA+ community.
Working under the guidance of the Program Manager, you’ll help drive the delivery of impactful resources and activities through high-quality project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing project support as part of the Lung Cancer Screening team.
- Coordinating timely and accurate reporting and document development that supports the Lung Cancer Screening team’s work.
- Establishing and strengthening stakeholder relationships, including facilitation of the Lung Cancer Screening Consumer Committee.
- Ad hoc administrative and project related tasks as directed.
About you
You’re an organised and proactive individual with a strong interest in public health, health equity and inclusive community engagement. You thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments and enjoy supporting meaningful projects that create real-world impact.
Essential skills and attributes include:
- Tertiary qualifications in public health, health promotion, policy, social or community services, or a related field.
- Understanding of, or experience in project implementation in a public health or policy context.
- Previous experience in project coordination, executive support or administrative roles, ideally within health or community sectors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with diverse stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to inclusive practice and cultural safety, particularly when working with diverse populations.
