We have X3 (2-Month Contract) Senior Security Technical Assurance Specialist roles available.

This offers the opportunity for Extension or Transition to Permament.

Responsibilities:

• You will perform technical assurance by analysing board metrics and underlying data sets, as well as controls assurance across three frameworks: PSPF, Accentuate, and NIST.
• You will be conducting independent Line 2 assurance activities over the implementation and effectiveness of the Essential 8 cybersecurity controls
• You will provide expert insights, challenge control owners, support continuous improvement in cyber resilience, and ensure timely reporting of control effectiveness.
• This requires you to go beyond surface-level validation, with the ability to understand and verify the specific configuration of controls.
• This role requires technical expertise in Essential Eight and SOCI (Security of Critical Infrastructure), with IRAP accreditation being preferable
• You will act as the assessor, primarily rubber-stamping work rather than offering guidance
• You will be helping to establish and develop the function, rather than simply maintaining existing operations.
• You will utilise your technical understanding to go in and pull apart the data sets

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong understanding of the Essential 8 mitigation strategies and cybersecurity principles.
• Strong Technical Expertise in Essential 8 & SOCI (Security of Critical Infrastructure)
• Strong technical understanding with ability to pull apart data sets
• Experience in IT audit, risk management, or technical assurance roles.
• Ability to interpret technical configurations and assess control effectiveness.
• Experience in Telco, critical infrastructure or Utilities
• Ability to go beyond surface-level validation, with the ability to understand and verify the specific configuration of controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• IRAP accreditation (Preferred, not Essential)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IRAP, CISA, CISSP, CRISC) are desirable
