About the role

This full-time position at the Visitor Information Centre in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory offers an exciting opportunity to work as a Tour Guide and Visitor Information Centre Officer. In this role, you will play a key part in showcasing the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Tennant Creek region to both domestic and international visitors.

What you'll be doing

Provide exceptional customer service to visitors by offering information, advice and booking assistance for local attractions, tours, accommodation and events

Conduct guided tours, sharing your knowledge and passion for the local area

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Information Centre, including inventory management and cash handling

Promote local tourism businesses and experiences to visitors

Contribute to the development and delivery of new tourism initiatives and events

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with people from diverse backgrounds

Excellent knowledge of the Tennant Creek region and its local attractions, history and culture

Passion for tourism and a desire to share your knowledge with visitors

Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

A positive, friendly and professional attitude
