Right now, we are seeking two experienced Meat Production Specialists (Western & Eastern Suburbs) who care about our store teams and meat as much as we do.
About the role:
As one of two Meat Production Specialists in our business you will draw on your own skill and experience to coach and hone the skills of our 'Back of House' meat production teams to produce the freshest quality products for our customers. Your overall key objective will be to work with our production teams to maximise yield (first margin) when breaking down bodies of beef, lamb, pork, goat and chicken. This will include working with each store manager to cost effectively improve rostering and production schedules whilst ensuring site safety and personal presentation and hygiene standards are always being maintained to our own exacting standards. Meat Production Specialists will also be a key driver of our apprenticeship program that will see us grow the best butchers in the industry with career paths to management for high achievers.
What we’re looking for:
Extensive experience (5+ years) as a trades qualified butcher who has progressed through to Meat Manager in a large supermarket or their own business will be looked upon very favourably.
Proven ability to successfully deliver in all aspects of the role; driving sales, managing costs, profit, stock control and people management & development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with customers, team members and senior management.
Be able to motivate and drive your team towards continued improvement.
Be able to make both early starts from 5am and closes working a 5-day roster across 7 days that will include a weekend day.
Have a genuine passion for meat and our butchers and the time-honoured skills of our trade.
