This is an exciting opportunity to drive and implement new product ranges, cost saving initiatives and customer value strategies across a diverse range of products while reporting directly to the General Manager.

Paramount Browns (Retail Division) is a locally owned and operated retail business specialising in Hardware and Machinery products with outlets in Gepps Cross and Mt Barker.

Role Requirements and Responsibilities:

A passion for generating new ideas and continuous improvement.

Develop and review existing and new product ranges from concept to market launch.

Analyse product data.

Conduct competitor and market analysis to guide development decisions.

Drive supplier negotiations and relationships.

Collaborate with procurement, merchandising and marketing team members.

Support new product ranging and launches.

Ensure products meet safety, compliance, and quality standards.

Responsible for revenue and margin growth via the development of new and existing products across both outlets.

About you:

As our Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for researching and developing both existing and new product ranges to meet our customer needs and market trends. You will collaborate with suppliers, buyers and internal teams to ensure products are commercially viable, high quality and aligned with our brand standards.

Previous experience in product development or procurement (hardware or similar retail industry preferred).

Understanding of business and marketing concepts.

Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management and retail trends.

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

Attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a faced paced retail environment.

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Product Design or related field would be highly regarded.

Strong analytical and reporting background.

Hardware and Machinery experience is highly preferred.

Work Hours, Location & Benefits

20 - 38 Hours per week (Flexible & Negotiable)

3 - 5 Day work week (Flexible & Negotiable)
