The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment Officer to join our team. This is a critical position within our operations, focused on maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong safety culture across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and enforce compliance with WHS regulations and internal procedures
Support the development, implementation, and review of WHS policies and systems
Conduct regular site inspections and audits; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
Ensure plant and machinery meet safety requirements
Deliver safety inductions, training, and toolbox talks for new and existing staff
Manage incident reporting and investigations, with a focus on continuous improvement
Facilitate and maintain Verification of Competency (VOC) processes
Engage with the workforce in the field to encourage safe practices and behaviours
Assist leadership with the implementation of updated safety procedures
Lead and participate in safety meetings and represent the company at site safety forums
Provide expert input on risk and hazard management, aligned with WHS legislation
What You’ll Bring
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Diploma in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
Proven experience in end-to-end incident management and WHS compliance
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and safety systems
Familiarity with the following ISO standards:
ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management)
ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management)
ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety)
Effective communication skills and the ability to influence and mentor teams
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Competent in writing and maintaining safety management documentation, audits, and training matrices
