About GRAIN
GRAIN is part of the Daylesford Brewing Co group — a venue built on warmth, integrity, and craft. We’re a small team with a big vision: to serve excellent food and drink with heart, consistency, and care.
Every role in GRAIN is vital. Whether on the floor, behind the bar, or in the kitchen, we operate as one team — grounded, professional, and genuinely proud of what we create together.
Our values are respect, accountability, proactiveness, communication, and pride. We don’t cut corners, we show up for one another, and we deliver a guest experience that reflects the love we have for this place.
Positions Overview
As a GRAIN team member, you’ll be responsible for creating an exceptional experience for every guest. You’ll maintain a clean, calm, and efficient workspace — whether that’s serving tables, making coffee, pouring beer, or cooking.
This role requires initiative, reliability, and teamwork. Each team member is expected to take ownership of their section, be observant of both customers and fellow team members, supporting others when needed, and uphold the standards that define GRAIN.

Handle issues calmly and respectfully, escalating to management when necessary.
Food & Beverage Service (Front of House Duties)
Take orders accurately and deliver food and drinks promptly.
Maintain table awareness, cleanliness, and atmosphere throughout service.

Maintain consistency, portion control, and quality throughout service.
Follow FIFO, food safety, and hygiene procedures strictly.
Complete prep, service, and cleaning lists with accuracy and care.
Venue Care
Keep all areas — inside and out — clean, organised, and inviting.
Complete all daily and end-of-shift checklists (set-up, pack-down, stock rotation, continuous cleaning, bins, sweeping, etc).
Report any maintenance, safety, or stock issues immediately.
Teamwork & Communication
Support each other — no “that’s not my job” attitude.
Communicate clearly and respectfully across all roles.
Take initiative during busy times and stay productive during quiet periods.
Follow directions and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Chef Position Overview
