About the Opportunity
Our client is a household name and national retailer with an aggressive national growth strategy. While known for their customer-facing operations, behind the scenes they run one of the country's most sophisticated property development programs, delivering a large number of new builds and major refurbishments annually.

This is a rare opportunity to join their National Development Group as a Construction Project Manager, taking full ownership of high-value commercial projects from concept to completion. Based in Perth, you'll be managing new retail facilities and major reinvestment projects across WA, with occasional interstate travel.

The Role
You'll manage the end-to-end delivery of new builds and refurbishment projects including:

  • Full project lifecycle management from feasibility through to handover
  • Contract administration (Australian Standard Form contracts, SOPA legislation)
  • Budget management, cost control, and commercial negotiation
  • Tender management and contractor/consultant procurement
  • Stakeholder liaison across Real Estate, Operations, Business Partners, and external parties
  • Ensuring compliance with NCC/BCA, WHS legislation, and brand standards
  • Post-completion activities including defect management and project evaluation

This is a hands-on role requiring site presence, commercial acumen, and strong technical capability.

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Building, Construction, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3-4 years' construction project management experience (commercial or retail advantageous, would consider two years for top performers)
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of NCC/BCA, building legislation, WHS requirements
  • Contract administration experience (preferably Australian Standard Forms)
  • Excellent communication skills—you'll interact with everyone from executives to contractors
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work autonomously
  • WA driver's license and willingness to travel regionally as required

Desirable:

  • Experience in retail, hospitality, or fast-paced commercial environments
  • Exposure to fast-track construction programs
  • Understanding of SOPA legislation and payment claim processes
