About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive, commercially minded HR Generalist to take full ownership of the HR function across our group.

This is a maximum-term parental leave cover until February 2027, with strong potential to transition into a permanent position. The role is fully remote, offering flexibility to work from anywhere in Australia, or from our Melbourne, Cairns, or Darwin offices.

You’ll be the go-to for all things HR - managing the full employee lifecycle and providing trusted advice to leaders at all levels. It’s a hands-on, end-to-end role where you’ll balance day-to-day operations with project work and strategic input.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing end-to-end recruitment across a range of roles and brands

Overseeing HR documentation, contracts, and compliance

Providing HR and ER advice to Operations Managers, General Managers, and CEOs

Supporting performance management, coaching, and capability development

Coordinating onboarding, offboarding, and engagement initiatives

Maintaining employee records and ensuring legislative compliance

Approving payrolls

About You

This role will suit a self-sufficient HR professional who enjoys variety and autonomy. You’ll be confident advising senior leaders, able to work independently, and comfortable managing everything from strategic advice to administrative detail.

You’ll have:

Broad generalist HR experience across recruitment, ER, and compliance

Experience working in a small or growing business

A practical, solutions-focused approach

Strong communication and organisational skills

The ability to work independently

Experience within the tourism industry will be highly regarded

Familiarity with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award and the Miscellaneous Award is also advantageous
