About the role
Are you a detail-oriented administrator with a passion for governance and supporting decision making processes? We are looking for a proactive Governance Support Officer to join our Corporate & Governance team and play a key role in supporting Council and Committee meetings, ensuring a smooth operation.
As the Governance Support Officer, you will provide professional administrative and governance support across the division and a range of formal and informal meetings, including Council, Audit & Risk, CEO Performance Review Panels and more. You will be instrumental in preparing agendas, coordinating logistics, maintaining records and liaising with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of governance materials.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the preparation of meetings, including room bookings, catering and technology setup.
Electronically register and publish agendas, minutes, meeting notes and other statutory documents.
Maintain elected member calendars and upload meeting schedules to the City’s website.
Provide administrative support to senior leaders including correspondence, document management and internal reporting.
Maintain registers, raise requisitions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Deliver excellent customer service aligned with the City’s values.
About You
You are a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You are a quick learner, enjoy working collaboratively and have a professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
You will bring
Certificate III in Business Administration or Local Government (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in administrative support, ideally within a governance or local government setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Experience in Microsoft Office and digital systems (e.g. records management, agenda software)
