About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Coordinator Conservation Maintenance to lead our dedicated team within the Parks and Conservation Management Service Unit.
Reporting to the Manager Parks and Conservation Management, you’ll be responsible for leading the Conservation Maintenance Sub-Unit, ensuring that the City’s natural areas, reserves, and environmental assets are maintained and managed to a high standard.
This pivotal role combines technical environmental expertise with strategic leadership, overseeing planning, operational delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives across a diverse portfolio of conservation projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing Conservation Maintenance team.
• Oversee conservation and environmental maintenance programs across the City.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and risk management frameworks.
• Manage contracts, budgets, and operational resources efficiently.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in conservation practices.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, government agencies, and the community.
About You
You are a proactive, solutions-focused leader with a strong technical background in conservation or environmental management. You’re confident managing people, budgets, and complex programs and you thrive on balancing strategic direction with hands-on delivery.
You’ll also bring:
• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent experience).
• Significant experience in a similar leadership role within a large or complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of environmental management, contract management, and relevant legislation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive high performance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Driver’s Licence
