What you will be doing
Reporting directly to Senior Manager, Design and Production, this role will be responsible for:
Leading and developing a high-performing team by setting work objectives, managing workloads, training, and giving feedback.
Undertaking customer and user research to inform design decisions, including by facilitating co-design workshops and creating journey maps.
Overseeing complex design projects, from conceiving concept proposals through to delivery and implementation.
Managing the creation of high-fidelity wireframes and screens, UI kits, and design specifications.
Supporting the evaluation and reporting on the effectiveness of design solutions.
What you will bring to the role
Demonstrated people management and creative leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and get the best out of staff.
Strong research and analytical skills, experience in discovering complex problems and developing effective recommendations.
Advanced computing skills including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and prototyping and collaboration tools (such as Figma and Miro).
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate research and negotiate with both expert and non-expert senior stakeholders.

About Victorian Electoral Commission
The Victorian Electoral Commission is an independent and impartial statutory authority established under Victoria's Electoral Act 2002.
The VEC conducts Victorian State elections, local council elections, certain statutory elections and polls, and commercial and community elections.
