Make an Impact
At the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA), we champion responsible investing and a financial system that works for people and planet. With 500+ members managing over $29 trillion globally, we’re leading the movement to ensure capital drives positive change.
Joining our small, values-driven team means you’ll be part of our mission - helping to shape a healthier society, environment and economy.
The role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Membership and Engagement Officer to support the Membership team in delivering exceptional service and engagement to our members.
This role is essential in driving member satisfaction, supporting growth across membership and sponsorship, and ensuring the smooth operation of RIAA’s day-to-day membership activities. Working closely with the Manager of Membership and Engagement, you will help strengthen relationships across RIAA’s community of members and partners, contributing to our mission to move capital towards a more sustainable future.
About you
You’re detail-oriented, organised and proactive. You may already have experience in customer service, administration, business development or account management and you’re comfortable with the systems listed below. But just as important, you care about contributing to something bigger.
We are looking for someone who can meet the criteria bellow:
Key Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the Manager of Membership and Engagement to grow membership, deepen engagement, and support sponsorship opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and members to foster meaningful connections.
Manage contracts, invoices, and membership data entry within RIAA’s CRM system.
Support the development and maintenance of membership and sponsorship pipelines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data to track membership trends, leads, and organisational priorities (advanced Excel skills essential).
Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation (PowerPoint proficiency essential; Canva experience desirable).
Contribute to the creation of member communications and marketing materials (Adobe Suite proficiency essential).
Support member engagement across RIAA events, working groups, and initiatives.
Undertake other duties as directed by the Manager of Membership and Engagement.
Key Selection Criteria
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.
Understanding of, or interest in, the investment or finance sector is desirable but not essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe PDF) is essential.
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Canva would be highly regarded.

By joining RIAA, you will become part of a supportive, collaborative, and flexible team environment. RIAA are committed to offering you opportunities for learning, growth, and making a meaningful contribution to moving capital for a more sustainable future.
Research shows that women are less likely to apply for a job if they don't meet 100% of the listed criteria, so we strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.
We would love to learn more about how your interests and experience could be a fit with one of the most admired and sustainable organisations in Australia and New Zealand. If you're as passionate about this position as we are then please don't delay and APPLY NOW!
We are interviewing immediately. For a confidential discussion please email Michelle Lilley on [email protected] or phone +61 428 224 945
