Parisi's Restaurant, 23 years and still cooking. We are looking for new team member to join our existing team located on Adelaides boutique shopping precinct, King William Rd Hyde Park. A local favourite that has gained the respect of their customers and is open lunch and dinner. Parisis's is 3 generations of restauranteurs still providing great service and quality Italian food. We are looking for the right person to join our existing team who has the passion to get busy and creative cooking a variety of Italian dishes.

Experience in a similar role and a good understanding of food, health and safety requirements, excellent communication skills, assist chefs in food prep with cutting and good kitchen skills. Setting up and closing down duties of a kitchen will also be a part of your shift duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians, kitchen and waiting staff
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Preparing and cooking food
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
Select and train staff
Freeze and preserve foods
Ordering the stock required for the kitchen.
Supervising the kitchen staff to ensure superior product standards.
Effecting shift planning and management
Managing daily kitchen operations and preparation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS RERQUIRED:

· Strong stock and cost control
· Minimum Two years post qualification experience in relevant field
· Min Certificate IV in relevant field such as Culinary, Hospitality Management (including Commercial Cookery)
· Good time management
· Experience in cooking Modern Australian cuisine, Italian and Western cuisine
· Professional leadership
· Great communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure at a fast pace
· Restaurant chef experience is preferable
