Position Overview:
Products for Industry are seeking an experienced Estimator - Internal Project Manager to lead and oversee projects within a dynamic environment, with work based at two primary project sites and our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing engineering or manufacturing projects, with proven experience in either food & beverage, industrial processing, FMCG, renewables, packaging, conveying or intralogistics.
As an Estimator - Internal Project Manager, plays a pivotal role in securing profitable work and ensuring its successful delivery. This dual-focused position combines the development of accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with hands-on support in project planning and delivery. The role requires reviewing scopes, site conditions, and specifications, performing site visits, liaising with clients, and coordinating with internal teams—including operations and procurement—to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with client expectations. Proficiency in design tools such as Inventor and strong project management practices are key to success.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate estimates for manufacturing, construction, installation, and maintenance projects.
Review technical drawings, scopes, specifications, and tender documents.
Conduct material take-offs, labour calculations, and supplier quote evaluations.
Identify risks, assumptions, and opportunities; provide alternative solutions or value-engineering options.
Attend site visits to assess technical requirements and gather project information.
Support proposals, tenders, and client communications; assist in converting quotes to orders.
Collaborate with sales, operations, and project delivery teams to validate estimates and ensure smooth handover.
Assist Project Managers with planning and delivery across all project phases.
Support resource allocation, scheduling, procurement, and risk mitigation.
Monitor project progress, timelines, and milestones; prepare key documentation (scopes, schedules, risk and communication plans).
Liaise with clients and internal teams to align outcomes with organisational goals.Take ownership of smaller projects or components, gradually increasing autonomy.
Use Inventor for design, drafting, and estimation support.
Demonstrated proficiency in Inventor software for design, drafting, and estimation support is required.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
3–5 years' experience in estimating, drafting, or design for manufacturing, construction, mechanical, or industrial projects.
Technical trade background or engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Fabrication, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of technical drawings, CAD drafting, labour costing, supplier pricing, and risk management.
Intermediate level CAD drafting experience with demonstrated competency in technical drawing interpretation.
Interest in project management with knowledge of project lifecycle and documentation.
Strong organisation, time management, and communication skills
Experience with site visits, Inventor, and project/estimating software.
Formal qualification in Project Management.
Familiarity with PMBOK standards and project scheduling tools.
Mechanical trade qualification or mechanical engineering degree
