We are looking to immediately fill a permanent full-time position for a Chef in our business Joey’s Kangaroo Point by Bellissimo Coffee.
The duties you will be expected to complete in this position include but are not limited to:
• Maximising guests’ satisfaction and experiences with high quality, innovative dishes
• Managing recipe development to ensure the right combination and quantity of food, seasoning and sauces is delivered on each dish to guarantee consistency
• Ensuring our produce selection, preparation of foods, cooking and dish presentation is always great quality, has high appeal and is value for money
• Being responsible for OH&S training and maintain the team’s food safety management and hygiene standards
• Ensuring all health and safety regulations are always adhered to and the kitchen is maintained at standards required for the food business licence
• Being responsible for the correct setting and operation of all cooking equipment
• Leading the planning of menus and closely collaborate with the team to develop ideas being aware of market trends and guest requests
• Costing menu items and sourcing quality products at competitive prices
• Managing selecting, training and rostering of kitchen staff
• Managing recruitment and retention of kitchen staff

We require the following:
• Possess at least three years’ experience in a kitchen role in a fast-paced, high quality kitchen environment
• Posses the correct qualification for a chef role
• Have a passion and love of cooking and creating exciting, flavoursome dishes
• Have great communication and people skills and able to work well in a leadership role in a dynamic team
• The ability to prepare and cost menus and roster staff in line with set budgets
• Be able to work in high pressure situations in a challenging environment
• Be able to work both morning and evening shifts and on weekends and public holidays
