About the Role
Do you light up a room with your passion and creativity, lead with heart, and have the organisational skills to match? This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee our Day Programs and group activities, ensuring every participant experiences meaningful, person-centred support that aligns with their NDIS goals.
You'll split your time between coordinating the program, supervising staff, and working directly with participants. It's busy, dynamic, and rewarding - juggling priorities, leading a team, and liaising with allied health professionals, families and community partners. If you thrive under pressure and get genuine satisfaction from seeing people achieve their goals, this could be your perfect fit.
This is your chance to truly shape our programs. We want someone who brings fresh ideas, creative thinking, and innovation to the role - someone who sees possibilities, isn't afraid to think outside the box and try new approaches to enhance participant experiences.
We are open to either part-time or full-time hours, dependent on the availability of the successful applicant.
What You'll Do
Lead and innovate: Oversee daily operations of group activities, bringing fresh ideas and creative approaches to ensure they're engaging, person-centred, and aligned with each participant's NDIS goals and support plans
Provide direct support: Work hands-on with participants in both individual and group settings, supporting their activities and building meaningful relationships
Supervise and develop staff: Lead and support the Team Leader, Direct Support Workers and students - providing guidance, mentoring, performance feedback, and coordinating inductions and training
Collaborate with stakeholders: Maintain clear, professional communication with participants, families, allied health professionals, and community partners, implementing recommended changes and strategies
Champion safety and quality: Identify and manage risks while maintaining accurate, confidential, audit-ready records
Advocate for participants: Ensure every person's needs, preferences, rights and goals remain at the centre of all planning and service delivery
Drive improvement: Regularly review and refine processes, programs and practices to enhance outcomes
Keep leadership informed: Communicate any serious incidents, reportable matters or significant risks
What You'll Bring
Essential:
Qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or related field (or substantial relevant experience)
Proven experience supervising or leading staff in disability, community or health services
Demonstrated experience providing direct support to people with disability and a deep understanding of person-centred practice
Experience coordinating programs or group activities in day programs or similar community settings
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Unrestricted Driver's Licence
Strong IT and organisational skills with sharp attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders
Understanding of (or willingness to learn) NDIS Practice Standards
What makes you stand out:
You're an ideas person who brings creativity and fresh thinking to program development and can convert ideas into action
You bring positive energy and enthusiasm that lights up the room—creating an uplifting environment for participants and staff alike
You're a natural leader who balances empathy with accountability
You stay calm under pressure and demonstrate resilience when facing challenges
You genuinely understand disability-specific practice and contemporary approaches
You build strong relationships and are committed to ongoing professional development
