About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Director (Post Production & Colour) to lead our technical and creative operations.
You will oversee colour grading, workflow design, and post-production management, ensuring the studio’s creative vision is supported by a robust and modern technical foundation.
This role requires both creative flair and deep technical expertise, with a focus on HDR/SDR mastering, ACES colour management, and international delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead post-production workflows, colour grading, and finishing for film, TV, and commercial projects.
Perform advanced colour grading using DaVinci Resolve.
Design and maintain ACES, HDR, and SDR pipelines for efficient colour-managed workflows.
Consult with production teams before shooting, assisting with on-set look development and colour management.
Oversee mastering and delivery for cinema, streaming, and broadcast platforms, including IMF creation, Dolby Vision HDR, and SDR deliverables.
Maintain and calibrate all grading displays, technical systems, and colour management tools.
Perform detailed quality control (QC) and ensure deliverables meet industry standards.
Collaborate with directors, DOPs, editors, and VFX teams to ensure creative intent is preserved.
Train and mentor junior staff, developing internal colour workflows and best practices.
Lead workflow automation, software development integration, and process optimisation.
Maintain strong communication with international clients and production partners.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in colour grading or post-production.
Expert in DaVinci Resolve, with working knowledge of Baselight and Adobe Creative Suite.
In-depth understanding of colour science, HDR/SDR workflows, and ACES.
Proven experience in look development, LUT creation, and cross-platform matching.
Professional knowledge in mastering and deliverables for cinema, digital platforms, and broadcast, including IMF, Dolby Vision HDR, and SDR.
Familiarity with software development, Python scripting, or workflow automation tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
Experience working with VFX-heavy projects and multi-location post-production teams.
Desirable: Membership in Colourist Society International (CSI) or Australian Screen Editors (ASE), and experience in 3D rendering, virtual production, or emerging imaging technologies.
