LITTLE RIVA a brand-new beachside café opening soon. Right now, we’re looking for a motivated and passionate Sous Chef to join our opening team.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Guided by an experienced Head Chef who will provide support and mentorship, this role is ideal for someone who has recently completed their culinary training and is ready to take the next step.

About the Role
You’ll work closely with our Head Chef to bring a creative, seasonal menu to life — from prep and plating to developing your own specials over time. This is a great opportunity to join a foundation team and help shape the identity of a new local venue.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard

· Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and team coordination

· Help with ordering, stock rotation and managing inventory

· Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment

· Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times

· Contribute ideas for new dishes and seasonal menu changes

What We’re Looking For:

· Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery

· Eagerness to learn, grow and lead in a supportive kitchen

· Passion for fresh, local and sustainable food

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· A calm, can-do attitude under pressure

· High standards for cleanliness and food safety
