Coordinator Planning Approvals
Salary: $123,820 to $131,778 per annum
Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)

Following a recent restructure, we are excited to offer this newly created leadership opportunity within our Planning Approvals team. This team plays a vital role in delivering the City’s statutory planning functions, including development application assessments, subdivision referrals and clearances, Design Review Panel reporting, and providing expert planning advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
As Coordinator Planning Approvals, you will work alongside our existing Coordinator to lead and support a dedicated team of planning professionals. You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the team, mentoring and training officers, ensuring the effective implementation of the City’s planning framework, and driving service excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.

To be considered for this position, please submit your resume and a covering letter (no more than 3 pages each) addressing the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience in administering and interpreting planning instruments including the Planning and Development Act 2005, local planning schemes, Residential Design Codes and local planning policies;
Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to positively manage stakeholder relationships;
Extensive experience in negotiating, facilitating and/or delivering development outcomes;
Highly developed decision-making, analytical, research and design skills;
Experience in leading and coaching staff and giving feedback in a positive and constructive manner.
