About the role:

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a Tier 1 infrastructure project, supporting the installation and commissioning of large-scale mechanical equipment, including components for Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).

In this role, you’ll be part of a high-performing team delivering precise mechanical installations using modern equipment and working to strict technical specifications.

Your ability to interpret drawings, carry out accurate adjustments, and respond to mechanical issues during commissioning will be critical to project success.

This is a long-term opportunity on a 24-hour operation, working a rotating roster of day and night shifts. Ideal for candidates with a strong mechanical background and a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret and work from mechanical and engineering drawings

· Assemble and install large mechanical components for TBMs

· Install, maintain, and fit fixed plant equipment including conveyors and cutting heads

· Transition from new build assembly to site-based maintenance and support

· Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications

· Adhere to all site safety protocols and promote a positive safety culture

· Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines

What You’ll Need:

· Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)

· Construction White Card (OH&S)

· Proven ability to read and interpret technical and mechanical drawings

· Working at Heights ticket (within 2 years) or willingness to obtain

· EWP, Scissor Lift, or Boom Lift tickets (desirable)

· Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

· Solid commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship

· Ability to work rotating shifts (Days and Nights)
