About the Role
As our next Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of fixed motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, pipework, and other general mechanical equipment. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately and work with a wide range of hand and power tools. You will be expected to perform precise alignment and fitting tasks to meet high-quality standards, while ensuring all work complies with relevant safety regulations and company procedures. A strong understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently are essential for success in this position.
This position will see you working both in the workshop and onsite, contributing to the efficient operation of plant and equipment while ensuring the safety and reliability of all works performed.
Key Responsibilities
install mechanical components, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform welding, cutting, and brazing using various techniques and equipment.
Conduct inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on fixed plant machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with the maintenance team and departmental staff to prioritize tasks and coordinate schedules.
Maintain accurate records of all works performed.
Adhere to safety protocols at all times, ensuring a safe workplace for yourself and your colleagues
Qualifications, Sills & Experience
Relevant Mechanical Engineering or similar AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification
Minimum 12 months proven experience in mechanical fitting and plant maintenance.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
A team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Flexibility and willingness to work across different sites as required.
