Account Manager – Wastewater Treatment & Environmental Solutions
Location: Western Suburbs Office Location / Hybrid Working Arrangement
Remuneration: Up to $120,000 + Superannuation + Performance Incentives + Health Insurance
About the Company
A national engineering solutions provider specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive growth and strengthen customer partnerships across NSW.
For more than 40 years, this organisation has delivered innovative and sustainable solutions in wastewater treatment, pumping, and solids-handling systems. Their technology supports municipal utilities, local councils, industrial manufacturers, and engineering contractors in improving environmental performance, reducing operational costs, and achieving regulatory compliance.
Their integrated in-house design, fabrication, and service teams collaborate to deliver complete turnkey solutions — from screening systems and packaged treatment plants to ongoing maintenance and spare parts support. The company partners closely with consulting engineers, EPC contractors, and end users across sectors such as water utilities, food and beverage, mining, and general manufacturing, making them a trusted name in sustainable infrastructure delivery.
Backed by strong technical expertise and a clear focus on environmental impact, the company offers a collaborative and forward-thinking culture where innovation and customer service go hand in hand.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, technically oriented sales role that blends relationship management, project coordination, and business development. As Account Manager, you’ll manage a portfolio of clients across municipal and industrial wastewater sectors, including local councils, water authorities, and private industrial operators.
You’ll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, managing existing accounts, and supporting clients through the entire sales and delivery cycle — from scoping and technical proposal preparation to installation and after-sales service. You’ll collaborate daily with internal engineering and service teams while maintaining direct engagement with asset managers, process engineers, plant operators, procurement officers, and consulting firms.
Your ability to understand technical challenges, recommend solutions, and coordinate between customers and internal teams will make you a key player in the business’s continued growth across NSW. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and grow long-term relationships with existing clients across municipal and industrial wastewater markets.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with local councils, utilities, engineering consultants, and industrial customers.
- Prepare detailed technical quotations, proposals, and tender submissions for wastewater treatment, pumping, and screening systems.
- Conduct site visits, assess equipment and process requirements, and provide informed recommendations.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, fabrication, and service departments to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Maintain CRM records, manage the sales pipeline, and provide regular forecasting and reporting.
- Support service and spare parts enquiries, ensuring consistent and reliable client communication.
- Represent the business at trade shows, technical conferences, and client meetings to promote products and solutions.
The Offer
- Up to $120,000 base salary + Superannuation
- Performance-based incentives and annual bonuses
- Private health insurance and employee benefits
- Hybrid work flexibility (office, site, and home)
- Structured professional and technical development programs
- Opportunity to represent a market leader in sustainable water technology making a measurable environmental impact
About You
You’re a technically minded sales professional with the confidence to engage both operational and technical stakeholders. You understand the challenges of wastewater and industrial processes and enjoy working across the full sales lifecycle - from opportunity creation to project handover.
You will bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales, account management, or process equipment supply.
- Background in wastewater treatment, pumping, filtration, or industrial engineering solutions.
- Tertiary qualification or trade background in mechanical, process, or environmental engineering (advantageous).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills across technical and commercial levels.
- Experience preparing detailed proposals and tenders.
- High organisational skills, attention to detail, and commercial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and site inspections.
