Your Role as Team Leader
As Team Leader Development Compliance, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our development services meet the highest standards of regulatory compliance. You will lead a dedicated team, navigating the political nuances of local council governance and applying your deep understanding of the regulatory landscape to protect community interests.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring compliance with development consents and investigating breaches
- Promoting education and awareness to empower the community
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
- Driving innovation and service improvements that reflect Council’s strategic goals
This is a leadership role that demands resilience, strategic thinking and a genuine passion for compliance. Your ability to manage people effectively and influence outcomes will be key to your success.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and capable leader who thrives in complex regulatory environments and is ready to make a lasting impact. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Town Planning, Government Statutory Investigation/Enforcement, or a related field
- Proven experience in development compliance and a strong grasp of relevant legislation
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
- Political awareness and the ability to navigate sensitive issues with professionalism and tact

- Package: From $117,242 - $133,307 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. In addition an award vehicle allowance of $10,780 gross p.a will be paid.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week, you will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
