The successful candidate will join a high functioning planning unit and contribute to managing development in one of the fastest growing LGAs in the country.

Essential:

• Tertiary qualifications in town planning or a related discipline
• A demonstrated working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, including extensive experience in the assessment, processing and reporting of a wide variety of development proposals
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in presentations to internal and external stakeholders (for example, regional and local planning panels)
• Ability to provide innovative and practical solutions to resolve complex issues
• Experience in a supervisory role and a demonstrated ability to make decisions
• High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills
• Experience in the management of Land and Environment Court matters

Desirable:

• Experience in urban release area planning
