The Medical Radiation Science (MRS) team within the Curtin Medical School is growing - and we’re excited to welcome a new Lecturer (Medical Imaging) who will play a key role in preparing the next generation of medical imaging professionals.
Our programs are known for their strong industry connections, hands-on learning, and close-knit teaching community. This newly created position supports our expanding student cohort and reflects Curtin’s ongoing commitment to delivering world-class education in the health sciences.
Your New Role
As a Lecturer in Medical Imaging, you will:
- Lead the coordination and delivery of Medical Imaging clinical units across all four years of the Bachelor of Science (Medical Radiation Science).
- Manage and coordinate clinical programs, including unit coordination of several clinical practice units.
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and evolving industry practice.
- Strengthen partnerships with more than 100 clinical placement sites that support student learning.
- Act as a mentor and role model, guiding students through their academic journey and clinical placements.
About You
You are a passionate educator and clinician who is committed to student learning and continuous improvement in teaching practice. You will bring:
- A doctoral qualification or 10 years’ clinical experience in a relevant discipline, or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for a Teaching-Focused Clinical Professional role.
- Current registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a reflective approach to learning design and delivery.
- A strong understanding of contemporary pedagogical theory and clinical education practice.
- An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and a commitment to fostering inclusive and collegial working environments.
- A passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds and a genuine alignment with Curtin’s values of Integrity, Respect, Courage, Excellence and Impact.
Role Requirements
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered. Curtin Medical School
The Curtin Medical School (CMS) encompasses the disciplines of Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, and Medical Radiation Science. CMS forms part of the Faculty of Health Sciences and is affiliated with two research institutes; the Curtin Medical Research Institute (Curtin MRI) and the enAble Institute for Health Science (enAble).
